Delicious Diversions: Ten Easy-to-Prepare Turkish Recipes

by Nomad

This weekend, what with devastating hurricanes and Trump's pardoning nonsense, I thought it was time to divert your attentions away from politics. And what better way than a discussion of food?
I thought it was the right time to share some splendid recipes from my neck of the woods.

Turkish cuisine draws its inspiration from thousands of years of cultural absorption, spanning from the Middle East and Central Asia all the way to the Mediterranean and Europe. The happy result is a delicious and healthy assortment of foods.

The recipes in the videos below have been attested as authentic (by me!) and you will find the directions easy to follow, even if you are skittish about "experiments" in the kitchen. Furthermore, I believe the majority-if not all- of these ingredients can be found in most suburban supermarkets. (If you have any questions about any of the recipes, feel free to ask.)

"Afiyet olsun" is the Turkish equivalent to the French “Bon Appétit.”
